For the past 2 years or more, I've repeatedly used big daddy
taxi. I have never had a complaint against them. in fact, before big
daddy, cabs never came for me at all or if they did, they were
always infuriatingly late.
I once called yellow cab, who repeatedly quoted me "15
minutes" before arriving more then an hour late. it is true
that LATELY big daddy has also had an issue with tardiness, but
that's rarely more then 10-15 minutes AT MOST. I don't mind waiting
a few extra minutes.
On rainy days, I do expect a customer surge & an average of a 45
minute wait... but even that I do believe is fair. If the wait time
is expected to be excessive, I'm told so in advance & I'm asked
if I still want to place the order. most other cab companies won't
give you that option. other cabs will, at their busiest point, quote
you in minutes & expect you to still be there whenever they
decide to actually show.
As for the dispatchers, the 2 I'm most familiar with are sean &
paul. both have gone above & beyond the call of duty for me, as
a regular customer.
I've always found paul to be a nice guy. he's very straight-forward
& down to buisness. he doesn't like to mess around & he
doesn't like others messing around on him. If paul's been rude to
you... I'll bet you said something to provoke him.
sean is also very nice... he's more laid-back & openly friendly
(whereas paul is friendlier after the job is done).
Almost all of big daddy's drivers are very friendly.
One is friendly but sort of quiet.
I will personally continue to use ONLY big daddy taxi.
still, if you want a little advice... I call for my cabs an hour in
advance. If the cab's late, wait for it (whenever possible).
if you absolutely can't be late... you shouldn't be relying on a cab
in the first place. no cab company will be on time all the time, but
THIS cab company will try a lot harder for you and be a lot more
reliable if you occasionally cut them a little slack.
if you no longer need the cab, make the call & say so.
they have to pay for the gas they waste while looking for you after
you've left.
other then that, tip well & don't be a jerk.
